More than 100 members of Pontarddulais Male Voice Choir brought the house down when they performed at their accompanist's wedding on Monday.Pianist Rachel Attwell, aged 34, of Swansea, was given a true musical send-off during her marriage to her Portuguese husband Luis Ramos at the King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston.
Rachel, who has been chief accompanist with the choir since April last year, invited all 111 choir members to her special day.
Choir secretary Lyn Anthony said it was a pleasure to be invited to sing at the wedding.
He said: ''It was a wonderful evening and it was an honour to sing.
''She is very dedicated and loyal to the choir and it was a privilege to accept her invitation.
''We entertained the wedding party for about 45 minutes and it seemed to go down well.
''We sung a variety of numbers from traditional to light-hearted songs including Gwahoddiad, Ar Hyd Y Nos and Love is a Many Splendoured Thing.
''Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves, some of the guests had never even heard a male voice choir before.''
Rachel graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with first class honours in music.
She then studied postgraduate solo performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Having won the National Eisteddfod accompaniment prize twice, she began working as an accompanist at RWCMD.
She is now the staff accompanist for the woodwind department and also freelances for BBC National Orchestra of Wales auditions and Welsh National Youth Opera.
Rachel has delayed her honeymoon to accompany the choir in the chief male choir competition at the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff on August 9.
Mr Anthony added: ''We are very grateful she has put her honeymoon on hold.
''Her husband is very supportive and came with us on our tour to America last October.
''She is a very professional and dedicated person and an excellent accompanist.
She even came to our rehearsals on Wednesday.''
