The choir joined the Young People of Llanelli Musical Players and Gary Griffiths (Baritone) in a most entertaining concert at Moriah Baptist Chapel, Llanelli on Saturday 8th February. The audience were treated to a fine selection of traditional male choral singing together with a medley of songs from Les Miserables and Joseph.
The choir was under the direction of Clive Phillips with David Last at the piano and John M. Davies on organ.Lorraine Williams, the Llanelli Musical Players' choreographer and director joined the young people as soloist much to the delight of the audience.
Gary Griffiths is from Pembrey and currently studying at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. He is well known to Llanelli audiences having appeared regularly with local choirs and chorals societies. At 19years of age he has a powerful baritone voice which he demonstrated so effectively in his choice of repertoire.
The concert closed with Gary, Lorraine, the Young People and the Male Choir joining together in a resounding performance of Someday from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, arranged by Clive Phillips, which brought the audience to its feet in spontaneous appreciation.
